Wedding Things You Tend to Forget

With all details required when planning that special wedding, there is always a ton of things you are likely to forget... 1. YOUR GET-AWAY CAR - You will need exit transportation from your reception to the honeymoon hotel. Even if you are staying the night at the reception site, an exit vehicle makes for a nice send-off and allows time for you to ride around town and unwind while your guests leave the reception. 2. FOOD - You didn't get to eat much at the reception, so a nice basket with containers of your wedding food makes for a great late night snack. PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT USE A CATERER THAT JUST GIVES YOU SEVERAL PLASTIC CONTAINERS TO CARRY IN YOUR HANDS TO THE HOTEL. Ask them to make a basket for you with food and drinks and wrap the basket with clear cellophane and tie it with a nice bow so you food doesn't spill all over you and the Get-Away car on the way to the hotel. 3. HONEYMOON LUGGAGE - Your wedding day is going to be a long one, so make sure you check in to the hotel and leave your luggage there so you won't have to deal with this late at night. Get your best man to drop your luggage off at the hotel the afternoon of the wedding.

A Great Gatsby Theme Wedding...

A Great Gatsby or Vintage Theme Wedding – What is a vintage theme wedding? It is often a combination of traditional and non-traditional features and activities planned throughout the wedding day. There is absolutely nothing more memorable than a unique vintage theme wedding. Brides and grooms are looking for ways to make their wedding day special, unique and memorable. This desire has created a lot of buzz around the “Vintage Theme Wedding” concept. Especially since the Great Gatsby movie debut. Often when brides talk to wedding planners and other wedding professionals, they want to know some of the unique services they have performed and to get new ideas from them about how to make the wedding day signature special. As a result, wedding professionals can offer insight into what unique resources and services are available that brides would never discover on their own. One of these unique service is wedding transportation. For example, a favorite request from brides is the “Bride Package”. The bride is picked up from her home or hotel and transported to the wedding venue in a very rare 1929 style Excalibur (a vintage car much like the one driven by The Great Gatsby) with VIP flags flying from the front of the vehicle. This is quite an attraction as all eyes are on the bride as she makes her way to the wedding venue. Upon arrival, her chauffeur rolls out a red carpet, puts on white gloves to assist the bride as she makes her way inside the wedding venue and prepares for her grand entrance. The Excalibur will later serve as the get-away car for the bride and groom with “Just Married” flags flying on the front of the vehicle. During this entire process, lots of photographs and video footage are taken of the bride’s grand entry and the bride and groom exit. At this point, all the guests are completely blown away with the entire process, as they have never seen anything quite like it before. At the reception site, there is lots of buzz going around about the cool vintage car and the attention to detail performed by the chauffeur, which makes for great conversation before the bride and groom arrives and the reception festivities begin. As the evening progress, everyone is having lots of fun and just before the evening comes to a close, a Vintage 1928 Essex Coach drives up to the reception site and rolls out a red carpet in preparation for the couple to make there grand get-away to the honeymoon suite. As the couple arrives at their hotel, what could have been a tense, hectic day, ends as a fun-filled series of events that will always be remembered. When considering wedding transportation for your wedding, there are several options available to choose from. Keep in mind, availability for all of these options are limited, so planning ahead and making reservations several months in advance are not unusual. Option #1: The Horse Drawn Carriage – This option brings out the princess or Cinderella feeling and gives a romantic nineteenth century flare to the wedding ceremony, when people were transported by horse drawn wagons, coaches, and carriages. For this option to work best, the wedding and reception should be in the same location or only a short distance apart. Keep in mind that this option has limited travel distance and legal restrictions on the roads. Option #2: The Vintage Automobile – This option allows the couple to take a step back in time of the early twentieth century, when automobiles had lots of character and styling. A few black and white photos will certainly bring out that feeling of the early days. This option works best with the wedding and reception is within the same geographical area. Option #3: The Classic Automobile – This option allows the couple to experience a time and mode of transportation their parents and grandparents may have experienced. When the automobile was king and personal transportation was unique and distinctive. Of course, there are the traditional limousines, but save that for your bridal party. In keeping with your vintage theme, you may want to consider a trolley bus. A very nice added touch!
